Pressure Vessel Fabrication
(U-Stamp)
Custom ASME U-Stamp Pressure Vessel Fabrication
Peak Welding and Fabrication provides custom pressure vessel manufacturing for industrial, municipal, and commercial applications. As an ASME U-Stamp certified code shop, we engineer, fabricate, and test pressure-retaining equipment to the strictest safety and compliance standards. Operating out of our heavy-fabrication facility in Manti, Utah, we build custom vessels for nationwide delivery, ensuring every weld meets ASME Section VIII, requirements.
Our Pressure Vessel Capabilities
-
Our shop holds an active ASME U-Stamp (Manufacture of Pressure Vessels), along with National Board R and S stamps. Every project is executed by our team of ASME-certified fabricators and welders.
-
Vessel engineering and fabrication are strictly controlled by the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Section VIII, Division 1.
-
We accommodate large-scale fabrication, supporting custom vessels up to 16 feet in diameter, a fabricated empty weight up to 20 tons (40,000 lbs), and wall thickness up to 2 inches.
-
We specialize in Carbon Steel and 304/316L Stainless Steel. We also fabricate using specialty alloys, including Super Duplex, for highly corrosive or demanding environments.
-
We utilize certified welding procedures including GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and SMAW (Stick) to meet specific material and code requirements.
-
Our custom vessels are built to withstand extreme operational demands, including high-pressure, high-temperature, cryogenic, and highly corrosive applications.
Custom Fabrication for Critical Industries
We build high-performance vessels for a variety of mission-critical sectors:
Energy & Mining
ASME Section VIII process tanks, separators, and heavy-duty industrial reservoirs built for rugged environments.
Food & Beverage Processing
304 and 316L stainless steel sanitary storage, heating vessels, and food-grade holding tanks.
Medical & Pharmaceutical
High-purity, clean-environment pressure vessels with strict sanitary weld requirements.
Propane, Air & Transportation
Compressed air receivers, LPG/Propane storage tanks, and specialized transportation vessels.
Data Centers
Chilled water expansion tanks, thermal buffer tanks, and closed-loop cooling infrastructure.
Quality Control & Testing
Compliance isn't optional. Our dedicated Quality Control Manager and internal QC program work closely with Authorized Inspectors (AIs) to guarantee complete transparency and code compliance. We provide full turnover data packages with every vessel, including: vessel engineering calculations and design, Material Test Reports (MTRs), precise weld mapping, hydrostatic test reports, and National Board registration. In addition to our in-house NDE/NDT capabilities, we partner with certified third-party testing contractors for Radiography (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Dye Penetrant (PT), and Magnetic Particle (MT) examination when needed.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our U-Stamp Services
-
An ASME U-Stamp certifies that a manufacturer meets the strict quality control and fabrication standards set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section VIII, Division 1 for building new pressure vessels.
-
Yes. While our field welding team serves the Western United States, our Manti, Utah fabrication shop builds and ships custom ASME pressure vessels to facilities across the entire country.
-
Yes. We regularly fabricate 304 and 316L stainless steel pressure vessels designed for sanitary, food-grade, and high-purity medical environments.
-
Every custom vessel is delivered with a complete Manufacturer’s Data Report (Form U-1 or U-1A), National Board registration, Material Test Reports (MTRs), and full quality control testing documentation.
-
We offer complete turnkey solutions. We can fabricate build-to-print from your existing drawings, or our team can handle the complete vessel engineering, calculations, and design to ensure your custom tank meets ASME Section VIII, Division 1 code requirements prior to fabrication. In either scenario, our engineering team rigorously verifies and refines the design to guarantee strict ASME code compliance before any fabrication begins.
-
Yes. In addition to our U-Stamp for manufacturing new vessels, Peak Welding and Fabrication holds a National Board R-Stamp. Our certified field crews can mobilize across the Western United States to perform compliant repairs and code alterations on your existing pressure vessels and boilers. See our R-Stamp info here.
In addition to new vessel fabrication, Peak Welding holds National Board R and S stamps for compliant boiler repair, code alterations, and power piping.
